Muscat: Oman will witness a rare annual solar eclipse phenomenon called the annular eclipse on December 26.

Oman News Agency (ONA) on Wednesday reported that Oman Astronomical Society will launch programmes and activities of the Annual Solar Project 2019.

According to ONA, a rare astronomical phenomenon is approaching Oman’s sky by the end of this year.

“The main programs and events associated with the project would be : promotional campaign for the Sultanate of Oman, Ring of Eclipse Camp in Ras Al Ruwais, astronomical camp for the hearing impaired, mass monitoring activities in the various Governorates of the Sultanate, astronomical photography exhibition 2020, awareness campaign security monitoring of the Phenomenon of the Solar Eclipse, educational program for dissemination of astronomical Culture for students of schools, colleges and universities, and research and Scientific Studies on the Phenomenon of the Solar Eclipse.” Oman News Agency added.
