#OmanPride: Indian School Darsait sweeps ‘I Love the Sultan’ campaign

Muscat: With colourful National Day performances, cheering, and excitement, the Indian School Darsait (ISD) on Tuesday celebrated its victory in the ‘I Love the Sultan’ campaign with its staff, students, and a team from the Muscat Media Group.
The school, which registered 13,053 entrants in the competition, from the class, parents, relatives and friends was the overall winner of the campaign.
In her welcome remarks, Dr Sridevi P Thashnath, principal of the school, congratulated both,the students and the staff, and credited their victory to team work and enthusiasm.
“His Majesty the Sultan has given all of us this wonderful opportunity to live and work in this beautiful country. It is with great pride and honour that we note that the Indian School Darsait has been able to show our respect and love [for the Sultan] with 13,053 registrations, the most by any school.

“This is through the innovative campaign ‘I Love the Sultan.A big thank you to the leading newspaper the Times of Oman and the Muscat Media Group for having given us this opportunity to express our gratitude and love to His Majesty,” she said.
Numerous cultural programmes were held at a special assembly in the school to celebrate victory in the competition and honour His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Oman’s visionary leader.

Richard Pakenham, chief sales and marketing officer of the Muscat Media Group,praised the efforts of the school and thanked both, students and staff,for their fantastic welcome, “When I visited the school here three weeks ago and saw your spirit and enthusiasm, I knew there was something very special about you students, so I congratulate you all on that.
“It has been a great honour and privilege for the Muscat Media Group to bring all this together,” he added.
Class 11A from ISD wins
In addition to being the overall winner, the school’s Class 11A registered the highest number of entrants among different classes and schools in Muscat. The students of the class, along with their parents and teachers,will soon be rewarded for their achievement with a party at apremium restaurant in Muscat.
ISWK gets second place

The Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) came second in terms of number of entrants registered, with 7,794 registrations.
“It was a great initiative and we enjoyed the wonderful campaign centered around our admired global leader. We lookforward to more such initiatives from the Times of Oman newspaper and the Muscat Media Group. Everyone took part with great enthusiasm,” DN Rao, principal of the ISWK said.
Femina Siddique and Sabareenath from class 12B said that they enjoyed taking part in the campaign. “It was tremendously amazing, and exciting.We got a very good chance to express our love and gratitude to His Majesty. Above everything else was the initiative our school took. The school was even more enthusiastic than us,” they said.
