Urdu Wing to organise Mushaira in Muscat

Muscat: The much-awaited annual Urdu Wing International Mushaira will be held at Oman Auditorium, Al Bustan Palace Hotel on November 15, 2019.
The event, organised by the Urdu Wing of Indian Social Club Oman (ISC), is very popular among poetry lovers.
Shahab Rizvi, the convener of Urdu Wing said that top international poets from India have been invited to recite at the Mushaira.
Urdu Wing has the right cultural and organisational expertise to bring an event of this stature to the audience in Oman, he added.
Tufail Ahmad, Co-convener of Urdu Wing, said that Urdu Wing has been organising International Mushaira every year since long and it has played an important role in promoting poetry & culture. Apart from International Mushaira, Urdu wing organises local poetry sittings also which has been quite helpful in bringing people closer to poetry.
Dr Gauher Naqvi, cultural head of Urdu Wing, said, “Urdu poetry has been the instrumental in bringing inter-faith harmony and served as a bridge between different communities. This Mushaira is going to strengthen the relationship.”
An array of renowned poets have been invited which include Prof Waseem Barelvi; Iqbal Ashhera, Dr Nusrat Mehdi, Rajesh Reddy, Mansoor Usmani, Muzaffar Abdali an IAS officer, Ms Siya Sachdevaa, Saleem Amrohia and Afroz Alam.
All the poets are very popular amongst the masses and the Mushaira is set to be a very successful event and would be an unforgettable experience for Urdu connoisseurs in Muscat.
