Muscat: Moderate to heavy rain fell in most of the governorates in Oman from Friday to Monday morning due to the impact of a deep air depression called Haya, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Batinah South, Al Batinah North and Muscat received heavy rainfall.
“The aerial picture shows the increase of clouds on Al Hajar Mountains and the neighboring wilayats with opportunities to extend to the coastal areas of Oman and opportunities for rain in different areas.”
“The amount of rainfall recorded (mm) in some monitoring in wilayat and Governorates stations within 24 hours as following: Mhadah 49.4, Al Awabi 43.8, Bidbid 43.6, Nakhal 42.6, Seeq 36.8, Saham 22.4, Liwa 22.4, Bawshar 20.8, Al Buraimi 14.0, Sohar 14.0, Shinas 13.2, Al Suwaiq 12.8, Al Khabourah 12.6 and Al Rustaq 12.4.”
Last year, with 49.2 mm, Marmul recorded the highest amount of rainfall.
“In coastal areas, there is a relative drop in maximum temperatures below 30 and mountainous areas, while in the beginning of 30 in desert areas.” PACA added.
