Food security steps discussed at Majlis Al Shura in Oman

Muscat: Efforts made by the Sultanate to enhance food security, namely taking precautionary measures to guarantee the stability of food prices, establishing government investment companies specialising in food industry and providing food under the extraordinary circumstances was explained by Dr. Fu’ad bin Ja’afar Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries to the Majlis Al Shura.
This came during a visual presentation on the fisheries and agriculture production system, as well as the food security in the Sultanate at the Majlis Al Shura yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of the Majlis Al Shura, members of the Majlis, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Oufi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for Fisheries, Dr. Ahmed bin Nassir Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for Agriculture and Sheikh Ali bin Nassir Al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of the Majlis Al Shura.
