Muscat: Tropical cyclone Maha is moving away from the coast of the Sultanate and will change its direction towards the Indian coast, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, PACA said: "The Center of Maha is about 610 km from the nearest point of the Sultanate coast Ras Mudrakah, and rainy clouds will continue affecting south Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta coastal areas within the next two days."
The National Center of Multi Hazard Early Warning Center analysis indicated that Maha has reduced its intensity to tropical cyclone category 2.
In its latest bulletin, PACA said: "The estimated surface wind speed around the center ranging between 65 and 70 knots and will change its direction to northeasterly towards Indian coasts away from Oman coasts."
