More than 166,000 Indians travelled through Oman’s airport

Muscat: More than 166,000 Indians travelled through Oman’s airports in the last eight months, according to the National Center of Statistics and Information (NCSI).

As per the latest data, there 5.2 percentage surge in the number of passengers travelling through the Sultanate’s airport until the end of August 2019. Travellers from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan were the most active during this time.

According to NCSI data, around 166,504 Indians travelled through Oman airports while 41,762 passengers were from Bangladesh and 38,418 passengers were from Pakistan.

The NCSI report also revealed that around 12 million passengers used Muscat airport until the end of August 2019. "The number of passengers through the Sultanate's airports (Muscat International, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm) reached 12,047,771 as of the end of last August, on 88,370 flights compared to 11,444,236 passengers in the same period in 2018 through 89,412 flights, which increase by 5.2 per cent,” the statement added.
