Muscat: Oman’s tennis star Fatma Al Nabhani settled for a second place in the doubles competition of the $10,000 Casablanca ITF Pro Circuit tournament in Morocco on Friday.
Fatma and her Spanish partner Olga Parres Azcoitia, who were given the second seeding in the tournament, came up against top seeded Romanians Daiana Negreanu and Oana Georgeta Simion and found the going tough.
Though Fatma and Olga tried to match the Romanians they failed to stop their opponents from winning the match and the title with a 6-2, 6-1 scorline.
Earlier in the singles competition, top seeded Fatma was beaten in the quarterfinals 6-3, 7-5 by Romanian fifth seed Cristina Adamescu.
Fatma will now take part in the $10,000 ITF Pro Circuit tournament in Rabat from November 14 to 20.
