Cyclone Kyarr shifts directions, to hit Oman’s Southwest coastline

Muscat: Tropical Cyclone Kyarr has deviated from its course towards Oman’s Southwest coastlines that is Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates.

Public Authority of Civil Aviation said in a statement: “Tropical Cyclone Kyarr deviated towards the south-west began and is likely to continue its movement along the coasts of Al Wusta and Dhofar and about 200 km from the coasts of Oman (coasts of the Arabian Sea).

Oman National Emergency Management Centre said in a statement: “Electricity has been cut in Asilah area in Jalan Bani Bu Ali as a precautionary measure."

“Road cleaning work began after the descent of sea level in the South Al Sharqiyah, in addition to cleaning and opening roads in Masirah island," The Centre added.

The Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance team in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with the support of competent authorities is engaged in the process of suction the seawater from the residential area in Ras Al Hadd area affected by the sea tide.
