Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan becomes first Malayalam film to enter Rs 100 crore club

Kochi: Mohanlal starrer "Pulimurugan" has become the first Malayalam film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
The adventure film made with a budget of Rs 25 crore, deals with man animal conflict with Mohanlal in the lead role of Murugan, a hunter.
Bengali actor Kamalini Mukherjee essays the role of his wife Myna.
Mohanlal, who is busy shooting in Rajasthan, in a Facebook post today revealed that the film had entered the Rs 100 crore club.

"I am happy to share with you that Pulimurugan becomes the first Malayalam film to enter 100 crore club, he said.
The actor also thanked the entire crew, particularly director Vysakh, producer Tomichan Mulakupadam and stunt choreographer Peter Hein for their seamless effort in making the film a "big success."
The film, which was released in Kerala on October 7, has been running to packed houses since then.
Its opening day collection itself had crossed Rs four crore from the Kerala box office, making it the highest opening day gross for a Malayalam film.
"Pulimurugan" has also been released overseas, including the UK, Europe, UAE and GCC countries.
