Kyarr update: No effects on Oman's coastline for next three days

Muscat: Tropical storm Kyarr is likely to be designated as a tropical cyclone within 24 hours and it is currently 1,500 km away from the Sultanate's coastline.

According to Oman Meteorology, the tropical storm is 1500 km away from Ras Madrakah and there are no direct effects predicted on the coasts of the Sultanate within the next 3 days.

In the latest update on the tropical storm, Oman Meteorology said: "Wind speeds around the center of tropical storm Kyarr is around 34-40 knots and it is stationed east of the Arabian Sea and is likely to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours."

"The tropical storm is moving west / northwest, it is about 1,500 km from the nearest point of the Sultanate's coast at Ras Madrakah and there are no direct effects on the coast of Oman predicted within the next 3 days."
