Omani Ministry follows up on claim made by private sector employee

Muscat: A female private sector employee has filed a formal suit against a colleague with Oman’s Manpower Ministry after she claimed to having fainted after an argument broke out between her and another female employee at the firm.

The Ministry said that it is following up on the claim after it gained a lot of traction on social media.

The Ministry said in a statement: ”The Ministry of Manpower is following up on the case after it was widely circulated on social media," and the case as it stands is, ”the aforementioned female employee of a private sector company got into a verbal argument with another female employee, and that resulted in her fainting after being subjected to a sharp rise in pressure.”

”On Thursday, 24 October 2019, she (the aggrieved party) filed a formal suit in the ministry and a session is scheduled for her next week,” the statement added.

The Ministry has called on people on social media to investigate the accuracy of the claims when raising such topics.
