Oman: 1,503 students from humanities colleges of Sultan Qaboos University receive degrees

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University’s second phase of the 27th graduation ceremony of was held yesterday under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Salmi, Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs.
The ceremony marked the graduation of the 8th batch of PhD graduates, the 21st batch of master’s degree holders, and the 27th batch of bachelor’s degree holders.
As many as 1,503 graduates from the humanities colleges at the university received their certificates or degrees during today’s ceremony.
The number of graduates from each college was as follows: the College of Arts & Social Sciences: 519 (including 71 masters graduates and six PhD graduates); the College of Economics and Political Science: 349 (includes 33 master’s graduates); the College of Education: 476 (includes 137 master’s graduates); and the College of Law: 159 (includes 20 master’s graduates).
In the first phase of the 27th Graduation Ceremony, held on 30 October, as many as 1,297 graduates from the science colleges received their certificates. The total number of graduates from all the nine colleges of the SQU this year stands at 2,800. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bemani, the Vice Chancellor of the Sultan Qaboos University outlined some of the achievements of the students from the humanities colleges. — Photos by ONA
