PACA Oman announces new air routes

Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has launched a number of air routes within Omani airspace that enhance the efficiency and safety of air traffic management.

According to the Authority, the new routes will be in areas with low air density and for flights to the airports of southern Oman.

PACA said in a statement online: " The Authority is launching new routes in Omani airspace; including the operation of an economic air route for aircraft flying to the airports of South Oman, North, East, Central, and South Africa; in addition to an economic route through the Empty Quarter between the Sultanate and Saudi Arabia."

"These routes will enhance the efficiency and safety of air traffic management by converting them to low-density areas. The project was planned and implemented by a national staff of the General Civil Aviation Authority specializing in air traffic control services," a PACA official added.

The inauguration came on the occasion of the Authority's celebrations of International Air Traffic Controller Day.

A PACA official said:"The Authority appreciates and celebrates the efforts of its cadres in the field of air traffic management. This day is an occasion to highlight the role of the human element in the growth and safety of air traffic and its important impact on the development of air navigation services."
