Over 7,000 kg of fish destroyed after municipal raid in Oman

Muscat: Municipal Inspection teams destroyed more than 7,000 Kg of fish after raiding a site for drying and salting fish located in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

South Al Sharqiyah Municipality said in a statement online: "The specialists at the Food Safety and Quality Department at the municipality of Jalan Bani Bu Ali in Al-Ashkhara raided a site for drying and salting fish."

"The raid resulted in the destruction of 4,000 kg of salted fish and 3,008 kg of rotten fish. Legal action has also been taken," the Municipality added.
