Pakistani Rupee depreciates drastically in one year

Muscat: The value of Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has depreciated drastically in the last year, when compared to its value in October 2018.

In October 2018, the PKR was trading against the Omani Rial at PKR336 and currently stands at PKR404.5 per Rial, as of 15 October, 2019.

Although the currency fell to an all time low in 2019, trading at PKR420 against an Omani Rial, it has now started to recover for a couple of months now.

In addition to that, the value of Indian Rupee (INR) also had a bumpy ride in the span of a year, facing an all time low at against the Omani Rial at INR187 in September 2019.

Currently, as of 15 October, 2019, the INR stands at INR185.5 against a single Omani Rial.

The continuous fall in the currencies led to a marginal rise in remittances from Oman to both the south Asian countries. A single Omani Rial would fetch you INR185.5 while the PKR would get you PKR404.5.
