Over 200 water rescues attempted last year in Oman

Muscat: More than 200 water rescue operations werw conducted by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance teams in 2018.

Data released by PACDA revealed that a total of 225 water rescue operations were conducted by the authority's water rescue team in 2018.

PACDA added: "Drowning is one of the leading causes of children dying. One should avoid swimming in lakes and marshes."

"Having safety equipment in the boat will help you ensure the safety of all passengers on board, " the authority added.
