Oman, UAE sign road transport agreement

Muscat: Oman and the United Arab Emirates signed yesterday an agreement in the field of international road and passenger transport.
The agreement was signed by by Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim Al Futaisi Minister of Transport and Communications from the Omani side and Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Nu’aimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development from the Emirati side.
Deliberations of the 18th session meeting of the Oman-UAE Higher Joint Committee began at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
Earlier, within the framework of fraternal relations binding the Sultanate and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and their keenness to promote them, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Head of the UAE side in the Omani-UAE Higher Joint Committee, arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit.
He and the committee members accompanying him were received by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Head of the Omani side in the Omani-UAE Higher Joint Committee, Darwish bin Isma’eel Al Bulushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of the Implementation and Follow-up Support Unit and Dr. Khalid bin Said Al Jaradi, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the UAE.
The Omani side was led by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, whilst the UAE side was led by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
