Omani transport services platform inaugurated

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport and Communication inaugurated the National Electronic Transport Services Platform, which will be operational from December 1, 2019.

ِAccording to the Ministry, the website provides services like obtaining vehicle operation cards and granting of licenses and permits to workers involved in land transport activities for both, individuals or institutions.

The Ministry said in a statement: "The national platform for transport services has been linked to the vehicle registration system of the Royal Oman Police and Enves Easy system in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to verify details of land transport and its licensed activities for individuals and establishments"

"The platform aims to monitor the compliance of transport service providers with the laws and create jobs for owners of enterprises and trucks by giving them priority to obtain contracts with investors and entrepreneurs," MOTC added.

The platform will contribute to the preparation of an integrated database of workers in the field of road transport, buses, facilities, trucks, and taxis.
