24 expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: 24 expats have been arrested today morning in Muscat governorate on charges of violating labor and residence laws, the Ministry of Manpower announced.

In a statement online the ministry said: " The Ministry inspection team in Muscat on Monday arrested 24 expatriates, including 18 housemaids from a number of locations in Muscat Governorate (Muttrah, Bawshar and Al Amerat).
"Legal proceedings are underway," the ministry added.
