Muscat: Mecca police officials have said that the murder of Saudi Royal Guard Major General Abdulaziz Al-Fagham, serving as the bodyguard of the Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, took place on Saturday evening.

The Saudi Press Agency released a statement by the Mecca Police, in which the spokesperson claimed that the victim was visiting his friend Turki when he was shot, leading to Turki sustaining injuries while a domestic help of Filipino nationality employed at the residence was also killed.

"On Saturday evening, Al-Fagham was visiting his friend Turki at his home in Jeddah. Later, their friend named Mamdouh also entered the house. During the meeting, an argument started between Abdul Aziz and Mamdouh who then left the room."
