Muscat: In coordination with the personnel of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Members of Muscat Municipality Council visited the New Muscat International Airport Project to acquaint themselves with the work progress.
The members were briefed on the project by Engineer Salim Al Romhi Engineer in-charge of package 3 of the project.
He said that the project has a runway of 4 X 75 metres. The project comprises various lounges to accommodate a large number of passengers for each flight.
He said that the Ministry of Transport and Communications has successfully inaugurated Salalah Airport as part of the construction of new airports projects in Oman.
There were three regional airports established by the Ministry; Sohar Airport, Duqm Airport and Ras Al Hadd Airport of which phase one and two have been completed, he said, adding that “construction work is going on in the passengers building at Muscat International Airport Project”.
The members toured the various sections of the project to acquaint themselves with the modern facilities of the project.
