Muscat: Al Mouj Muscat in collaboration with Ithraa and KPMG has launched the Oman Investment Handbook.
The book contains significant details about Oman as a potential investment destination and the opportunities present in the Omani markets for international investment.
Speaking at the event, His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Director General at Ithraa highlighted the importance of such informative books to promote Oman. “Unless Oman is spoken about or known more in the international markets we will not be able to get the investments that we need. The investment handbook presents a summary for potential investors and is a good way of attracting interest in Oman,” he said. He added that this will be the first version of this book and there are more versions that will be coming up soon.
Nasser Al Shibani, CEO of Al Mouj Muscat said that although this book is not a detailed one, it presents all the facts that can trigger interests from investors abroad. “Such books are ideal to promote Oman abroad and although it is not completely detailed, it is enough to get people to talk about Oman as a potential investment destination, he said.
Ashok Hariharan, head of Tax services at KPMG echoed these comments. “The book summarises most of the important factors which many people abroad are not aware of. When such books come out into the market, it makes it easier for investors abroad to learn about a country,” he said.
