Business development workshop for Injaz Oman students held

Muscat: Oman Oil Company (OOC), the government’s investment arm in the energy industry and other related sectors, recently hosted Injaz Oman’s talented students at a Business Development Workshop.
Based at OOC Headquarters, the initiative surveyed the grounds upon which SMEs can cooperate with private sector corporations and boost their operations, focusing on topics critical for business success.
“Having one of Oman’s largest conglomerates share knowledge with our students on imperative economic focal points like sustainability, as well as marketing, innovation and corporate citizenship, is truly a privilege,” said Khaula Al Harthy, Executive Director of Injaz Oman.
“OOC delivered insights that are increasingly relevant with global challenges, reverberating down to national economies and SME sectors worldwide. The event unquestionably delivered added value to the business experience we provide for participants of our Student Company Programme and Competition.”
Al Mutasim bin Said Al Sariri, Director of Corporate Affairs at OOC, commented, “At Oman Oil Company, we are committed to development of human capital and entrepreneurial talent among the business leaders of tomorrow. Injaz Oman’s initiatives fit into our long-term strategy by creating lifelong-learners and investing in young Omanis. We hope that the Business Development Workshop was a good opportunity for them to channel their motivations into creative ideas that could potentially become new, thriving businesses.”

“OOC is committed to supporting sustainable programmes that benefit the community by focusing on three main mandates; Training for Employment, Entrepreneurship and SME Support and Capacity Building,” added Al Sariri.
OOC and Injaz Oman’s workshop reflects the achievements of earlier years’ collaboration. Oman Oil Company has previously supported the ‘Sharikati’ programme, an initiative for youth entrepreneurs, run in partnership with Injaz Oman. The Business Development Workshop followed other recent events coordinated with public and private institutions to support the participants of Injaz Oman’s Student Company Programme and Competition. The non-profit group collaborates with a variety of industry leaders nationwide to capitalise on the power of partnerships to support its educational focus on the business prospects of Omani youth.
Oman Oil Company is proud to support business-training programmes, such as Sharikati that target young Omanis and promote creativity, initiative and risk-taking new ideas. Small and medium enterprises will one day become the main employers in Oman. By directing young people towards a career in business through skills development, OOC will ensure the critical role of entrepreneurs as job creators.
