Omani coastguard assists several stranded at sea, arrests 3

Muscat: Omani coastguard police boats provided assistance to seven people at sea, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.

In an online statement ROP said: "Coast Guard police boats in Muscat governorate assist two fishing boats with three people on board."

In another case, the coastguard police in south of Al Batinah assisted four people after receiving a call from a boat crew after colliding with another near Wilayat Musanah.

The Royal Oman Police calls on boat owners to carry out regular maintenance of their boats, and asked them to take enough fuel and ensure the presence of safety and first aid tools before going to the sea.

And authorities also arrested three people for violating of the labor and fishing laws.

The authorities said “Coastguard police boat in the south-east caught a fishing boat with three people aboard in charge of violating the labor and fishing laws.”

ROP added, “Legal proceedings against the accused were taken."
