10 arrested in Oman for vehicle theft

Muscat: 10 people were arrested for stealing vehicles in Oman, Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.

According to ROP, the accused were stealing the cars by reprogramming the keys.

In an online statement, the police said, "Referring to what has been circulated in some social media and reports received by the Royal Oman Police about the theft of a number of vehicles using the reprogramming keys for stolen vehicles. The police would like to clarify that a total of 10 people including the defendants and their accomplices have been reached and arrested."

The Royal Oman Police has called on the public to take precautions in maintaining their vehicles.
