‘Picturesque’, a vibrant photography exhibition by Dinesh Deckker is first of its kind, which includes a vast variety of photo collection of over 250 unseen beauty of Sri Lanka and Oman. The exhibition is on October 15, 2016 at Sri Lankan School, Wadi Kabir, from 5pm-10pm.
Dinesh Deckker is a Sri Lankan, who is living in Oman. His passion for travelling encouraged him towards photography, videography, and conservation. After a short visit to Oman in 2014 he fell in love with the country and returned back here. He picked up his first camera at the age of 15, and since then is lucky enough to travel to amazing locations in Sri Lanka. During his travel he has managed to capture the most memorable moments. His work was selected to exhibit both international and national exhibitions. He is one of the few Sri Lankan’s who achieved the dream of climbing the Ten Highest Mountains in Sri Lanka. Additionally he has written many travel articles to local papers and also has directed hundreds of video documentaries about Sri Lanka which has attracted more than 284,000 views in YouTube.(youtube.com/user/srilankatravellers/) Also he has done handful of documentaries about the beauty of Oman which includes Wadi Dayqah Dam, and Muttrah Souq. ‘Picturesque’ exhibition showcases the magnificent photographs taken while Dinesh Deckker was exploring Sri Lanka and Oman. This exhibition showcases unique and rare photographs taken by the photographer while exploring. This includes endemic animals and birds, dramatic sceneries, submerged ruins (only visible 5 to10 years when there is severe drought).
The exhibition consists of a wide range of photography genres including landscapes, waterscapes, macro (close up), wildlife, portraits, conceptual, architectural, nature, candid, action, fine art, and panoramas. M.K. Pathmanaathan the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman will grace the occasion as the chief guest. —[email protected]
