Oman’s Public Authority for Consumer Protection receives 58,000 complaints since inception

Muscat: Oman’s Public Authority for Consumer Protection has received over 58,000 complaints ever since it was established in 2011.
As per reports by the Directorate General for Research and Development, the complains are from across the country and are structured in twenty different sectors, which consist of automobile dealership, vehicle repair workshop, phone and service, aluminium workshop, electrical appliances sector, construction materials, labour services and furnishings sector, among others.
Figures also show that the PACP received almost 14,000 complaints in 2014, with numbers falling to around 12,800 in 2015.
The first half of 2016 witnessed close to 5,300 complaints by the PACP.
