Muscat: Dhofar Automotive, in association with Oman Golf Committee (OGC), is all set to host the annual Chrysler Cup golf tournament at the Ghala Golf Club on October 14 and 15.
According to a press release issued by the organisers, the the tournament is rapidly growing in popularity and is a fixture in the calendar of all amateur golfers in Oman.
“The event plays a crucial role in nurturing upcoming Omani talents and is held under the able guidance of the Oman Golf Committee and chairman Mundhir Al Barwani,” the statement added.
Modelled on Ryder Cup, the tournament ensures participation of all golf clubs in Oman with the golfers competing in team and singles format.
The 2016 tournament features four teams – Ghala Golf Team, Almouj Golf Team, Ras Al Hamra Team and Muscat Hills Team. On the first day, the teams will compete in ‘Greensomes & Fourball’ matchplay while on the second day, there will be ‘singles’ competition.
