Muscat: The United States Embassy based in Muscat celebrated the south Indian festival of Onam on Thursday.
The Embassy shared pictures of the celebration, that was hosted by south Indians at their office in Muscat, via their official Facebook page.
"We would like to thank our Malayali colleagues from Kerala for organizing this amazing celebration of the Onam Festival at U.S. Embassy Muscat. On this occasion, we would like to wish them #HappyOnam!” The Embassy said via Facebook.
Onam is an annual harvest festival predominantly celebrated in the Indian state of Kerala. According to legends, the festival is celebrated to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at the time of Onam.
