Muscat: The new iPhone will be available in the Oman by the end of this month, according to technology conglomerate Apple.

According to the Apple website, the prices for the variants of the iPhone 11 have not yet been decided for Oman, but it will be available from 27 September.

An official from the MI store in Oman, the Apple reseller in Oman told Times of Oman: "The iPhone will be available for customers starting 27 September, and we have not opened pre-orders because the prices have not been fixed by the company yet."

While people cannot pre-order the phones in Oman yet, the store has a system in place to cater to customers.

"People in Oman can call and ask for the phone. We take their information in that case to have an understanding of the demand. Then we can call back once pre-orders are open and ask if they still want to order it," he said.

According to the official, the prices for the three variants of the iPhone (the iPhone 11, Pro, and Pro Max) will be comparatively reasonable compared to the iPhone 10.

Apple lifted the curtains on the new iPhone 11 on Tuesday.

Officials from Apple said that they tried to make the iPhone 11 cheaper than previous editions of the phone.

Kaiann Drance, the iPhone senior director of Apple, said, "iPhone 11 offers so much meaningful innovation and we want more people to experience it.

"This is why we are offering the new iPhone for just $699," she added.

In the US, pre-orders begin on 13 September, with the phones being available on 20 September.

According to Drance, the iPhone 11 comes in 6 colours and adds more features for photo-lovers.

"We have an amazing dual-camera system with a new wide camera."

According to Apple presentations, the new phone offers a 12 mega-pixel wide camera, as well as another ultra-wide camera with a 120 degree field-of-view.

Furthermore, Apple said that the new iPhone's battery will be an improvement on previous editions.

The phone also boasts of better water resistance than its previous versions.

“The iPhone 11 is water resistant up to 2 meters for up to 30 minutes — double the depth of iPhone XR," the statement added.
