Muscat: The public transport station at Burj Al Sahwa will be developed to global standards starting from the middle of next year, according to the Oman Global Logistics Group (Asyad).

According to Asyad, construction for the project will begin in the middle of 2020 and when complete, the station will provide new services as well as air-conditioned waiting areas for travelers.

A statement by the group read: "Asyad group has issued a tender to develop Al Sahwa station into a world-class public transport station over a total area of 42,000 square metres in cooperation with the private sector."

"This station will raise the level of public transport in Oman because of the area's importance to connecting Muscat to other governorates, as well as the airport," the statement added.
