eXtra opens third store in Oman

Muscat: As part of its expansion plans, eXtra, the GCC region’s most popular electronics store, has recently opened its third store in Oman in Sohar, conveniently located opposite Safeer Mall.

At a glittering ceremony held on Wednesday, 28 August, 2019, the Wali of Sohar, H.E. Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed Al Shamsi was the Chief Guest. Also present were a host of dignitaries, guests and customers.

As part of the celebrations, Oman’s singing sensation, Haitham Rafi, enthralled the audience with a superlative performance.

Open to everyone, the guests also enjoyed the beats of a traditional Omani band. In a family gathering, the kids also had eXtra fun with a magic show, cartoon characters, face painting and henna.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the new store in Suhar, Mohamed Galal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, eXtra (United Electronics Company), said, “We started in 2003 in Saudi Arabia, became a public listed entity in 2011, and currently are the market leaders. Our turnover is about 5 billion Saudi Riyal, and Oman was the first market that we expanded to in 2013.”

Galal continued, “Our journey has been really rewarding as we listen very carefully to our customers. At eXtra, our main proposition is that we give the best assortment in the market, we serve it, we sell products on cash or credit, and at the same time have the best employees that have great knowledge about the products.”
