Oman art scene: Reflection of the other in Stal Gallery inaugural exhibition

Muscat: Nine Omanis works went on display on Tuesday the Stal Gallery during its inaugural exhibition for the 2016-2017 season entitled, “Reflection of the Other.”
The group includes Hassan Meer, Budoor Al Riyami, Ahmed Al Mullahi, Ruqaiya Al Balushi, Rawan Al Mahrouqi, Sarah Al Balushi, Muzna Al Musafer, Safa Al Balushi and Raiya Al Rawahi.
The art show will continue till the end of the month, according to a press release by Stal Gallery.
The exhibition will immerse the audience in the world of the Circle of Experimental Art collective, giving them privileged access to the existing connections between the artists and the way they view, consider and regard each other. Whether it is an installation, performance or soundscape, each artist will reflect on their distinct style a visualisation or expression of the other. These representations are excerpts of the artists’ impression, feelings, perception and connection.
Participating in this exhibition are seven emerging artists and two prominent ones. At the forefront is Hassan Meer, renowned artist and artistic director of the Stal Gallery. His works reflect spiritual musings, abstract representations of Omani history and culture, as well as family heritage.
The exhibition opened on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:30 pm at the Stal Gallery and Studio located in Madinat Sultan Qaboos, Muscat.
