Muscat: National Business Centre (NBC), which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), on Tuesday organised Mashura initiative that comprises a series of sessions that focus on providing specialised business consultancy to the incubated companies.
Held at Riyada, Mashura session hosted officials from Directorate-General of Customs, Royal Oman Police who briefed the entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from NBC and Riyada on electronic customs’ services, custom clearance, procedures for export and import of goods, e-payment, permits, licenses and exemptions, among other topics.
The officials highlighted the objectives of Bayan system, which is an online single window and one-stop service offering from Royal Oman Police (ROP), Directorate General of Customs. The system facilitates seamless, convenient and fast clearance of goods for trading communities and various stakeholders. Bayan system provides a coordinated view of the government to trade community customers and reduces their administrative and logistical burden.
It should be noted that NBC is an initiative launched by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.
The centre offers a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by providing business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
Objectives of NBC comprise facilitating and supporting the growth of investable ideas into successful businesses; building entrepreneurial skills through dedicated and focused training, coaching and mentoring; and providing business support facilities from office space, administrative support, financial support and consultancy services that are crucial in ensuring the success and survival of new ventures.
