New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) Accusing the Congress of creating
hurdles in the path of national development, BJP on Sunday
said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is delivering despite
Opposition's negativity.
The BJP also said Opposition's repeated "anti-government"
campaigns mirrored their "complete frustration" over sustained
growth of India under Modi's stewardship.
"Despite all the hurdles being created by the anti-
development and anti-poor opposition, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi has delivered results and is taking the country forward.
"Where on the one hand world leaders are lauding PM's
leadership and India's growth story, Congress leaders are
playing politics of lies and deceit for their petty selfish
gains," BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma alleged.
He said the Modi government has performed well in
2015 despite the atmosphere of negativity "being bred" by the
Opposition which continues to stall Parliament and block key
reform bills.
"PM Modi and his Government have performed well during
2015 despite Opposition's repeated campaigns to defame the
Government and the country. Key reform legislations have been
stalled by those who are themselves mired in corruption.
"Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are facing corruption
charges in court but continue to level baseless accusations on
the government to deflect attention from their own failures, "
Sharma alleged.
The BJP leader attacked Congress governments in states
like Kerala and Himachal, where Chief Ministers Oomen Chandy
and Virbhadra Singh respectively were embroiled in corruption,
and Modi's others detractors.
"West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is playing
vote bank politics, and in Bihar, the law and order machinery
has crumbled with CM Nitish Kumar succumbing to Lalu Prasad's
pressure," Sharma said.
He also took on the opposition saying Modi government had
through its performance silenced those who have been
repeatedly asking what happened to the promise of good
days.
"We have answered our critics with our performance by
launching various initiatives like Mudra Bank, Start up India,
reduction in medicine prices, crop insurance, transparent coal
and spectrum allocations, and zero tolerance to terrorism "
Sharma added. PTI SKC

Sharma said while GDP has grown, inflation has come down,
foreign exchange reserves have grown along with FDI, the
country has done maximum production of ethanol and urea while
providing relief to farmers.
He said Modi is aiming to take the country among the
fastest growing economies and where people can live with
dignity.
Sharma said that the "zero tolerance" policy towards
terrorism adopted by the Modi government has proved to be
effective and the outlook of the world towards India and
Indians has now changed.
He said that the government has put an end to corruption
and the recent spectrum and coal auction in a transparent
manner is an example. It has also put a stop to leakages in
different schemes and now the subsidy is reaching the poor.
He said that while in 2015, there was highest coal and
electricity production, the export of software from India too
reached a new high.
Sharma said that while during the previous UPA regime,
the pace of construction of national highways was around 2-3
kilometres per day, the present government has fixed the
target of 18 kms per day. PTI SKC
