SalamAir may delay, cancel some flights for safety reasons

Muscat: As a SalamAir aircraft experienced difficulties in landing due to a bird striking it, the airline announced that there may be some delays or cancellations for future flights.

While the flight — on its way from Dhaka to Muscat — landed safely at the Muscat International Airport after the incident, SalamAir explained that the "disruption" could impact its operations.

An online statement by Salam Air revealed: "SalamAir flight OV398 scheduled to land in Muscat International Airport from Dhaka on August 26, 2019 was struck by a bird. The flight landed in Muscat International Airport and all customers disembarked safely."

This incident may lead to inevitable delays or even cancellation of other flights by the airline.

"Due to this disruption, customers might experience delays or cancellations on some SalamAir flights.

"SalamAir is committed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and security across all its operations," the statement added.

The airline urged customers to either visit its website or call 24272222 to find out if their flights will be delayed or cancelled.
