#OmanPride: Critical clean-up on Masirah Island in Oman

Muscat: The Environment Society of Oman (ESO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) as well as numerous public and private sector entities, organized an emergency clean-up on Masirah Island following a shipwreck that threatened the critically endangered loggerhead sea turtle population.
Covering more than 50 kilometres of Masirah’s north-east coastline, the clean-up, which has continued for two months, has removed more than five tonnes of debris and saved the lives of dozens of turtle hatchlings.
