Muscat: Oman will open their campaign in the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier Division 2 competition with a match against Thailand in Malaysia on Tuesday.
In the Asian qualifier that runs till October 6, Oman and Thailand are placed in Group B along with UAE, Kuwait and Hong Kong while Group A comprises Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Singapore.
In the 10-team tournament 14-member Oman are being led by Wasim Ali.
Paritosh Hitesh Kumar is the vice-captain while the other members of the team are Vivek Shreeraman Iyer, Suhail Hakim Al Balushi, Muhannad Said Haidar Al Balushi, Mohammed Salman, Hemil Maaheshkumar, Ivan Joseph Manjila, Mohit Kanaiyalal, Mohammed Mohsin, Vikram Nabira, Indunil Udara, Prathyosh Sivakumar and Ubaid Ullah.
The team are accompanied by coach Nileshkumar Parmar and his assisstant Parvez Abul Qadir Al Balushi, and team manager Dad Mohammed Al Balushi.
