Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation has said that it does not interfere with the prices of flight tickets in Oman.
This came in response to a citizen's complaint on social media that rising demand has inflated the prices for his flight returning from Salalah to Muscat.
PACA said in its response: "In accordance with the approved mechanisms for regulating the market for air travel, which are markets that bend to demand and supply, there is no interference at all from PACA in deciding on prices or approving them, especially when there are two airlines operating in Oman."
The citizen had originally sent a public message to the Public Authority for Consumer Protection, which had referred him to PACA as it is in control of the sector.
