Muscat: Number of e-transactions done through Invest Easy portal under the Department of Commerce and Industry in Ad Dhahira and the holding offices in the province from January 1 to August 25 touched 6,202, including 1,206 transactions reported by the holding offices.
“The transactions included 2,511 new commercial transactions, 3,394 renewal of commercial registrations and activity modifications, 153 commercial register cancellations, 132 property transfer transactions, and 12 transactions for capital proof,” said Saeed bin Hamood Al Qasabi, director of the Commerce and Industry Department in Ad Dhahira province said.
Transactions done through the old system reached 1,776, comprising 698 commercial register renewals, 166 authorisation for commercial and personal imports, 107 transactions for oil and cement shipment release certificates, 773 certificates of origin for Omani exports, and 32 authorisation, industrial register, and updating data transactions
“As investors, businessmen, and owners of small and medium institutions increasingly turn towards electronic services, the number of e-transactions have increased. The services provided through the Invest Easy portal are done quickly and provide high rates of accuracy when exchanging data between concerned parties. It also helps decision-makers with high quality data. The Invest Easy project has contributed to solving the problem of multiple registers, and improved the business environment for investors,” Al Qasabi added.
Al Qasabi invited all investors in the Ad Dhahira province to benefit from the Invest Easy project, as this service saves investors’ time and effort, and helps boosting investments in all fields by creating an appropriate environment for the same.
He also pointed out that the service is connected to many related governmental agencies, and thus investors can get their registrations issued anywhere and anytime. They also can perform different modifications and additions without needing the Ministry of Commerce and Industry or different departments in the provinces.
The only condition is that the service user must obtain an electronic authentication, by using an electronically authenticated ID, or through the phone if the SIM card is provided with a PKI system.
