Bank Muscat warns customers of fake message scam

Muscat: Bank Muscat customers are being asked to ignore a fake message that tells people their ATM cards have been blocked.

The message, which is issued by a website called Bank Muscat Online Update, is sending people the following message in both English and Arabic:

"Dear Customer, your ATM Card has been blocked. Because you did not have an update yet. If you want your ATM card to work properly, then call this number immediately: 96631571"

In the wake of this fake message doing the rounds, Bank Muscat themselves have come forward and asked people not to listen to it.



The official statement from Bank Muscat reads: "Dear followers, please be advised that this is not an official message from Bank Muscat, and would request you to kindly be cautious and refrain from sharing your banking details to avoid fraud."
