Oman education: Chinese language launched at SQU

Muscat: Tourism Department at the College of Arts and Social Sciences in Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) today launched Chinese language as an elective course for SQU students in a ceremony held in the presence of Yu Fulong, Chinese Ambassador to the Sultanate and Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, SQU Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation.

Dr. Muna hoped that students would show enthusiasm in learning the Chinese language. She added that introducing foreign language courses will contribute in enhancing strong relations between the Sultanate and China.

Yu Fulong, Chinese Ambassador to the Sultanate, pointed out that learning a foreign language is an important step to familiarize and deepen mutual understanding between the two countries. He also affirmed the continued support from the Chinese Embassy to the Chinese language course at SQU.
