Registration opens for first Spartan Race in Oman

Muscat: A tough global endurance race is coming to Oman for the first time and registrations are now open.
The world-famous Spartan Race endurance challenge will take place on October 21 at the popular Jabal Sifah, just a short walk from Sifawy Boutique Hotel.
Totalling a distance of five kilometres and featuring more than 20 obstacles, Spartan Arabia’s first ever venture into Oman is sure to prove a challenging gauntlet for even the fittest of sportsmen, and is designed to be a challenge to all who seek the thrill of adventure.
Three races are to take place, with the Elite category, by far the most challenging of the three, scheduled to kick off at 8am.
Places in the Elite category are fast filling up, and registration for this test of endurance is priced at OMR40 per person.
Two more heats are planned. The Morning Open is from 8:30 am to 11:45 am and is priced at OMR33, while the Afternoon Open gets underway at 12 noon and ends at 2pm.
