Indian School Ghubra student excels at Rubik’s Cube contest

Muscat: A student of Indian School Ghubra, Madhav Saki of Class 6-D, participated in two Rubik’s Cube competitions held in India.
He secured the first position at The Cube Fiesta held at Surat, Gujarat and also participated in the Phoenix Marketcity Cube Championship held in Mumbai, India.
Madhav Saki participated in the 3x3 cube and 2x2 cube categories in both the competitions, which are affiliated to the WCA (World Cube Association) and are open competitions with no age limit/groups.
At the Cube Fiesta in Surat, Saki won a Certificate of Merit for being the “Youngest Cuber”. He also qualified for the second round based on his timings.
Long hours of regular practice, intense concentration and great patience have resulted in him improving his average timing for the 3x3 cube to 25 seconds and for the 2x2 cube to six seconds.
Madhav Saki’s passion for this mind game makes him want to perform better in the future.
