Oman Broadband Company launches its activities at Khareef Dhofar 2026

Muscat: Oman Broadband Company has launched a comprehensive programme of awareness activities and interactive experiences that embody the role of optical fibre in building an integrated and sustainable digital society.

The programme is designed to enhance visitors' knowledge of the benefits of the optical fiber network and its contributions to supporting innovation and digital transformation. This initiative comes as part of the company's participation in the Khareef Dhofar 2026 season under the theme "Experience the Speed... Go Fibre", running from July 25 until the end of August 2026. The activities will take place across several vital locations and commercial centers in the city, alongside the company's role as a main sponsor and strategic partner of the "Nova" events.

The programme aims to introduce visitors to the importance of the ultra-high-speed optical fibre network, offering direct, hands-on experiences that reflect its role in improving connectivity quality. It ultimately empowers individuals and institutions to leverage more efficient and reliable digital solutions, thereby supporting the digital transformation journey in the Sultanate of Oman.

The activities will officially kick off on July 25 at the Nova Stage in Al Haffa Market with a PlayStation FIFA 26 tournament, coinciding with the opening of the Oman Broadband Gaming Zone. This zone will welcome Khareef season visitors until August 4, offering interactive experiences, daily competitions, and prizes. In addition, awareness and interactive activities will be held at various locations across the Dhofar Governorate to raise awareness of ultra-high-speed optical fibre services and highlight the role of digital infrastructure in national development. All events will also feature raffle draws with various prizes and daily winner announcements.

Furthermore, from July 27 to 30, the company will organise the "Interactive Journey to Discover the World of Optical Fibre" at Salalah Gardens Mall. This entertaining and educational experience allows visitors of all ages to understand the importance of optical fiber through five interactive games. These activations simulate the speed of fiber, its role in connecting the community, and its impact on the home user experience, culminating in its contribution to building Oman's digital future. The programme will conclude on August 4 at the Nova Stage with an engaging Q&A and Trivia event ("Sin Jeem").

Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Broadband Company, emphasised that the company's participation in the Khareef Dhofar season aims to foster public awareness regarding the importance of modern digital infrastructure and to highlight the optical fibre network's role in enabling users to benefit from highly reliable communication services.

Al Wahaibi stated: "Through our participation, we seek to provide an interactive experience that introduces visitors to the true value of optical fibre. The optical fibre network has become an essential pillar of digital life due to the speed, stability, and reliability it provides. We were keen to design a programme that seamlessly blends awareness, entertainment, and direct experience. This reflects our mission to support digital transformation, enhance the quality of life, and perfectly embodies our campaign theme, 'Experience the Speed... Go Fiber'."
