
Caracas: The death toll from the two consecutive earthquakes that struck Venezuela has risen to 3,811 people, according to an announcement by the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez.
The latest statistics indicate that the number of people injured as a result of the disaster, which occurred on 24 June, has reached 16,740, while the number of homeless individuals has reached 17,907.
Venezuela has renewed its calls for the lifting of international sanctions imposed on it to assist in reconstruction efforts following the two earthquakes.
