
Ibra: The Ministry of Health celebrated on Sunday the launch of the activities of the second edition of the first national training programme, “Training of Trainers” (TOT), for homecare services.
The programme, which is implemented by the Ministry of Health for the governorates of Muscat and North Al Sharqiyah with the support of Shell Oman, aims to build qualified national cadres in the field of homecare, and upgrade the quality of health services provided to beneficiaries in their home environments, thereby contributing to achieving sustainability and easing pressure on health facilities.
Dr. Ahmed Said Al Saidi, Director General of Health Services in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said: “This programme stems from the Ministry of Health’s keenness to invest in human capital and build qualified national cadres who possess the necessary knowledge and skills to lead training programs and transfer expertise.
This supports the expansion of the implementation of home healthcare services and enhances the quality of healthcare provided to beneficiaries in their homes, in accordance with the best professional practices.”
He added that the selection of the training-of-trainers methodology reflects a strategic vision aimed at preparing an elite group of national competencies capable of transferring knowledge and unifying practices.
This contributes to the sustainability of the programme and expands its impact to include various health institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, while enhancing the readiness of health teams to provide integrated and safe home health services centered around the needs of the patient and their family.
For her part, Nahed Ali Al Jamil, Head of the Home Care Services Department at the Ministry of Health, explained that the program represents a qualitative leap in qualifying national trainers capable of transferring knowledge and unifying practices, noting that the national toolkit will serve as an essential reference to ensure the quality and sustainability of training across various governorates.
The ceremony included a theatrical performance titled “Home Care Services... A National Vision Towards Sustainability and Excellence,” in addition to the presentation of a working paper that reviewed the strategic vision of the Ministry of Health aimed at making home care a primary pillar in the health system and easing pressure on health institutions.
The event also featured an introductory visual presentation about the program, another titled “Success Story,” alongside the unveiling of the program’s new logo and the launch of the national toolkit for home care services.
The celebration was held under the auspices of Hamad Khalifa Al Abri, Wali of Ibra, who honored the supporters, partners, and participants. -
