CBO issues commemorative coins celebrating its 50th Anniversary of establishment

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced the issuance of a commemorative set consisting of 5 commemorative coins, in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of its establishment (1975-2025).

This edition embodies a distinctive period in the journey of the Central Bank of Oman and documents its fundamental contributions to strengthening the pillars of the national economy and developing the banking sector.

The commemorative set is a tribute to the journey of giving and an affirmation of the Central Bank of Oman's pioneering role in the economic development of the Sultanate of Oman for five decades.

Designed to the highest technical standards, the commemorative coins are made of pure silver with a face value of One Rial, a diameter of 60 mm, and a weight of up to 50 grams for the large coin, while each of the smaller coins made of silver-plated brass carries a face value of 100 Baisa, a diameter of 38.61 mm, and a weight of 28.28 grams.

These commemorative coins are legal coins with their face values and can be purchased from the Central Bank of Oman (Ruwi, Salalah & Sohar) or through Oman Post sale window at the Opera Galleria starting from 19/07/2026.
