Oman to showcase export strength at 57th Algiers International Fair

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the 57th Algiers International Fair, which opens on Monday at the Pins Maritime Exhibition Palace in Algeria, as part of efforts to expand the global reach of Omani products and strengthen trade ties with African markets.

Organised under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the participation supports the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to diversify sources of national income, boost non-oil exports and enhance the competitiveness of the Omani economy.

A delegation of 20 Omani companies will represent a broad range of sectors, highlighting the diversity and growing international presence of Omani industries. Participating sectors include food and beverages, fisheries and seafood, iron and construction materials, agriculture and fertilizers, plastics, buses and commercial vehicles, chemical and pharmaceutical products, logistics services, as well as perfumes, frankincense, bottled water, Omani sweets and traditional handicrafts.

According to Lubna bint Mohammed Al Harthi, Director of the Export Development Department, at the ministry, the exhibition provides an important opportunity to open new export channels and establish long-term partnerships with importers, distributors and supply-chain stakeholders across the African continent.

She noted that the event will also enable Omani companies to explore new growth opportunities, identify emerging market trends and gain insights into innovations across multiple industries, helping strengthen economic diversification efforts and improve the global competitiveness of Omani products.

Meanwhile, Mahmoud bin Sulaiman Al-Yazidi, Head of the Export Promotion Department, said the participation aims to reinforce Oman’s reputation as a reliable source of high-quality products that meet international standards and specifications.

He expressed confidence that Omani products, combining traditional heritage with innovation, will continue to expand their presence in the Algerian market and across Africa.

The Algiers International Fair is expected to provide a valuable platform for business negotiations, networking and bilateral meetings between Omani entrepreneurs and international counterparts, potentially leading to new trade agreements and investment opportunities that further strengthen economic cooperation between Oman and African markets.
